There’s something about longer days that puts me in the mood for wine.
So when I received a box from Gift Hampers containing two bottles of Chilean wine, along with sweet and savory goodies, I was absolutely delighted.
Here’s what I liked about this hamper, and how I used its items for a casual wine date.
What’s Gift Hampers?
As the name suggests, this company creates hampers for various occasions, including Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day, as well as wine and gourmet packages.

Don’t worry if your special someone isn’t a fan of wine. Gift Hampers also does gift sets with whisky, gin, vodka, and more.
There’s even a gluten free hamper, and gift boxes designed specifically for chocolate lovers.
A glimpse into my box
I was treated to the Temptation gift hamper.
From the moment the box arrived, I could tell this wasn’t like any other hamper. The packaging was elegant and understated, and securely fastened — it took me quite a while to undo the ribbon (but that’s just me).
And inside? A beautifully arranged collection of treats that made me feel completely spoiled.

Besides the wine, my box included:
- Olive dip and rosemary crackers — a match made in heaven!
- Truffle crisps — not usually a fan of truffle, but I almost went through the entire packet without sharing a single bite with my husband.
- Cute, heart-shaped chocolates.
- Strawberry cream darlings (like macarons, but ten times more delicious!).
- Almond biscotti, also ideal with coffee.
- An apple tart, which my husband wanted to devour all at once.

What stood out most was how cohesive everything felt. Rather than a random assortment of items, this hamper contained complementary treats that made for the perfect wine or tea date.
A casual wine date
So, my husband was working late and I thought I’d put together a nice wee platter. I started with the cream darlings, chocolates, and biscotti.

Then I opened the crisps, put them in a bowl, ate half of them, and put the rest in a smaller bowl (so my husband wouldn’t know!).
Next came the crackers and the olive dip. I had to try the dip and oh it was good!

And finally, the wine. I went for the bottle of red, deciding to save the white wine for warmer nights.

Well, my husband was late, and it took a lot of willpower not to dip into more olive tapenade (and crisps) while I waited for him.
As someone who loves both receiving and giving meaningful gifts, I’ve mentally bookmarked this hamper for future birthdays, thank-yous, and “just because” moments.
Oh, and of course, to treat myself when the time comes.
